Bacchus: Immortality Isn't Forever by Eddie Campbell
With a detached tone and not just a bit of irony, Campbell's Bacchus focuses on the stories of the God of Wine in the modern age. He's one of the few Greek gods that has survived, and he holds a grudge against a (now immortal) Theseus. Ensues a wacky Mafia war between the two. But things remain kind of on the level until the Eyeball Kid (son of Argus Panoptes) shows up, wanting in on this immortality lark. One part greek mythology, one part surrealism, this first of ten TPBs is still a delight to read.
