Shamanism by Igor Baranko

Shamanism by Igor Baranko

I was unimpressed by Baranko's Jihad but amazed by his Egyptian Princesses. Thankfully, Shamanism is more of the latter than of the former. It's a story of Native Americans in a shifting alternate history where the white man has not quite made it to America. Steeped in Native American mysticism, well documented and wonderfully drawn, it's compelling and intricate although maybe not as heavy going as Egyptian Princesses was. All in all a great comic book though, reminiscent of 80s European comics by Jodorowsky and Moebius in some ways.
