Black Hammer v1 by Jeff Lemire, Dean Ormston, Dave Stewart

This came recommended by some friends whose tastes I normally trust, and I can see why: an intriguing story of washed out superheroes stuck in a pocket dimension that looks and feels like a town in middle America. Lots of intriguing threads, the story veers towards EC Comic tribute at times, some depth in character design. My only minor gripe is that I wished we got a little bit more of a sense of where all this is going. As it stands, this first volume is exposition and not much else. Still, I'll probably get the next one.
