Coincidence by Antoine Boyer & Samuelito
After discovering Boyer's mindblowing Caméléon Waltz I decided to look for other records of his. This one, in duo format with flamenco guitarist Samuelito (also a French guy) veers decidedly south of the Pyrenees. It's exhilerating music, hard not to think of Friday Night in San Francisco, but Boyer's classical touch brings something different. The cover of Bowie's Life on Mars is worth the price of admission alone, but the whole thing is pretty amazing to be honest. Definitely a hot pick of early 2019 for me.
