Lord of Light by Roger Zelazny
This book had been on my to-read list forever, and I finally went and read it. I suppose I was expecting a mind-blowing masterpiece, and I only got a really good novel. Then again considering my dissapointment at rereading the Princes in Amber series a decade ago, the very fact that I enjoyed a Zelazny so much should mean something. Bringing together hindou and buddhist mythology with high level science-fiction in a truly clever way, the book explores how the emancipation of a far exiled humanity was obtained. Very much worth your while !
