Times that Fry Men’s Souls
This is the first OSR sandbox I really dug into. It's by Seann McAnally. Characters are thrust in the middle of early revolutionary America around the city of New York (circa 1776). The map details 80 map hexes with 2 or three hooks per hex. It also offers 23 story threads that span several hexes. Finally, it offers 10 short adventures that can be plugged into more or less any hex. It's really well organised and inspiring. The few system references are generically OSR but I ran it with Into the Odd and it fits perfectly. There are tons of tables at the end to help with both character generation and plot ideas. A really cool supplement for a tiny price. The only downside is that the maps are virtually illegible, and even the high res map on the author's website isn't much better.
