I bought this on a whim. After all, a jazz project that is an hommage to Woody Guthrie is intriguing enough, and of course that title in today's Italy resonates. I really had not idea what to expect. What I got was a surprisingly pleasant, electric bass heavy record that reminded me at times of the more brassy Abdullah Ibrahim albums (I know, who would have thunk?) and at times of the rock band Morphine. It's a very pleasant listen with some high moments. I don't know Woody Guthrie's music well enough to judge whether it's faithful, but it's good.
