Music!Music!Music! by Charlie Hunter & Lucy Woodward
In buying this album I was hoping for the amazing vibe that the collaboration with Norah Jones on Songs from the Analog Playground. From that point of view, I wasn't disappointed. Charlie's sound is a bit more raunchy, at the edge of oversaturated to these ears at times, but the dynamics of the trio (and why does Derrek Phillips not get top billing as well? His drumming is awesome on this...) It's all covers (I think), a mix of blues, soul and rock anthems. Some of them move quite a way away from the originals, which is how it should be. Current faves are Please Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood and Can't Let Go, but I'll be revisiting this often.
