Nephilim Quintessence

Nephilim Quintessence

I pledged for this new (5th!) edition of Nephilim, but I was concerned that the system wouldn't be modernized enough and the setting would be too confusing. I was wrong on both counts. The authors did a great job of putting playability first in what can easily become a very messy set of mechanics because of the richness of the underlying material. It's still a game stuffed with occult symbolism, historical reference and 25 years of metaplot, but this is about as good a new edition as they could have made. The only disappointment is in the art direction which lacks atmosphere. Full review (in French) here.
