The Crown Season 1
I walked into The Crown on the basis of very positive feedback, expecting to find it mildly interesting. Instead I found it engrossing, subtle, immersive and fantastically well acted. The two leads, but particularly Claire Foy, are amazing, and all of the secondary characters are equally compelling. I thought I had a good general sense of UK history, but there are so many events in there I wasn't even aware of it's crazy. It made me realise that a well executed (on the same level) French series on De Gaulle would probably be a massive success. Highly recommended.
