Mr. Iglesias Season 1
I watched this Netflix show without any notion of what it was about or knowledge of the actors involved. It's a sitcom set in a high school in a rough LA suburb, but it's entirely feelgood and absolutely not gritty. Iglesias is a history teacher who sees his mission as getting the kids who have it the hardest to succeed. It's not very subtle, and I missed a lot of latino references that were (presumably) funny, but still I laughed a lot more that I expected. The positive vibe may feel sappy to some, but I found it refreshing. Really enjoyed it, wish there'd been more than 10 episodes.
