Africa Speaks by Santana
An improbable gumbo that (surprisingly) works great : all of the Santana staples are there, heavy percussions, searing reverbed guitar, fat organ sounds, spanish lyrics (as well as English). But all are used in an unusual context, that of African inspired harmonies and melodies, reminiscent of Fela and Afrofunk. The odd sauce is real tasty. This is the first Santana album that speaks to me (pun intended) in a long while.
