Chef Larry by Laurent Maur
Laurent Maur is probably the most accomplished chromatic harmonica jazz player in France from a point of view of technique. His style (at least on this record) is classic swing, but he infuses it with an energy and grit that makes it delightful. I've never liked the perfectionists a la Gallison with that clean, cold sound. Maur's music has plenty of soul as well as speed and oomph. A great listen.
