Lud-in-the-Mist by Hope Mirrless
It took me ages to finally get into this novel of fairy creeping in on a quiet bourgeois town. I don't know what it is about the style or pacing that made it hard for me to get hooked. But when I finally passed the mid-mark of the book I was hooked. Really good but you have to be a patient reader.
