Hot Club of San Francisco (Live at Asia Society for Hong Kong)
It's not every day that you see a concert in a large corporate meeting amphitheater, and it certainly doesn't do much for the intimacy of the music being played. But beggars can't be choosers, it's not like we're flooded with opportunities to see gipsy jazz here in Hong Kong. I had never seen the Hot Club of San Francisco, and they certainly know their stuff. It was a fun evening of music, although it lacked a bit of danger to be truly memorable. The band was playing it safe, focusing mostly on the sweeter / more romantic side of their repertoire. In the end I didn't buy their record, which is a sign that it wasn't quite what I was hoping for.
