Seven Years in Tibet

Seven Years in Tibet

I had never seen this Brad Pitt classic, and another Netflix evening led us to it. This story of a couple of Austrian prisoners of war in India making their way to Lhasa and staying there, witnessing the brutal takeover of Tibet by the freshly created Republic of China was interesting. The visuals of the movie are stunning, and the acting is generally fine (although I truly disliked the idea of all languages being English). Ultimately though, it's a fairly passive story being retold and as a consequence it lacks potency.
