The Song Society Playlist by Jamie Cullum
This collection of pop covers is only an album in as much as the project included 10 songs which are together here. But essentially, Cullum proposed to his band these 10 covers, with roughly a couple of hours to rehearse and then a couple of takes to record. I don't know any of the songs covered here, but there's a freshness that shines through that I find very enjoyable. Not a landmark album, but a nice, exciting piece of jazzy pop.
