Histoire du polar by Claire Caland & Sandrine Kerion
I love detective stories (polars in French) and when I stumbled upon this thick graphic novel entitled History of Detective Stories, I could not not get it. To be fair, the graphic novel bit of it is a bit meh. Sure the art is decent and legible and at times there are interesting compositions to highlight the display of information, but by and large I wasn't wowed by the art. The content however is very cool and seems comprehensive. I will need to revisit it to jot down the dozens of novels I haven't read that I thought I should look into.
