My wife and I are increasingly struggling to find TV series we both want to watch, in part because our tastes don't overlap all that much, and in part because my patience for TV series is wearing a bit thin. A few years ago, we really enjoyed and tore through the 5 seasons of Rita, a Danish TV series about a middle aged teacher, and so we thought Pørni (Pernille if you're searching on Netflix) which is a bout a middle aged social worker in Norway might seduce us. And it did... to a point. The set-up and the acting are good, it has a mix of fun and pathos, at least at the beginning, that we found compelling, but down the line you realise that the writers are just piling up more and more problems on the lead character's head without resolving any of them. Thankfully the episodes are on the short side. I think we'll watch season 2 at some point, but I need a rest before we delve back into it.
