The Very Best of Wilson Pickett by Wilson Pickett
I recently realised that I only knew Wilson Pickett classics through covers. Mostly the Commitments, but also Tina Turner. It was time to correct that, so I got myself a best of album, which I don't normally do, but in this case, no regrets. Pickett's soul is on the more muscular side, and it really shines through here. Not only are the classics as good as it gets (Midnight Hour, 1000 Dances, 634-5789, Mustang Sally...) but the rest is super high caliber as well.
