Five steps on the sun by DarWin
I stumbled upon DarWin by chance, to the point of not really knowing still if DarWin is the name of the band or of one of the artists. In any case, this is the work of a supergroup, only one musician of which I previously knew: Mohiny Day. This is their 4th album, and I found out about it because of the promo for the 5th album (which I also purchased, upcoming review soon). At first I was surprised by the very radio friendly sound of DarWin, not what you expect from progressive rock in this day and age. And yet this is prog, and while it can sound heavy, the clean sound makes it easy to take in. Maybe a bit too much at times, but all in all I quite enjoy listening to it because there's a lot of layered complexity and subtlety in the music, you just have to dig a bit to perceive it. Not a bad pick.
