Birth of the Cool by Miles Davis
Don't get me wrong, this is wonderful music. In fact it defined a whole genre of jazz in the late 50s. The issue is it's been so influential that it's really hard to listen to it with fresh ears. So many other jazz records, but also movies, adverts, etc. have borrowed from this. I think I need some repeated listening to get over the sense of déjà entendu...
