Heavier Yet (Lays the Crownless Head) by Seun Kuti & Egypt 80
Seun Kuti's albums draw from his father's legacy, but they are quite modern, and sound like their own thing. Heavier Yet not only has a really cool title, but it's very original sounding, even in the continuity of Seun Kuti's own albums. It's a short album (or a long EP) with six long tracks. The opener T.O.P. is perhaps the funkiest, drawing from that Afrobeat guitar. Emi Aluta also stands out with heavy percussions and rapper Sampa the Great. It's all good though, great album.
