Madeleine Résistante : la Rose Dégoupillée by Bertail, Morvan and Riffaud
This is the first volume in a series of super sized (both in format and number of pages) biography of French resistant Madeleine Riffaud. It tells the story of her teenage years in the early parts of the war and how she joined the resistance in Paris in the early days of the occupation. Graphically, it's wonderful, the style very aesthetic, possibly to offset the really grim story. It's very effective, Riffaud was directly involved in the writing and a postface tells the story of her meeting with Morvan and the start of the project. Excellent stuff, though grim (and I suspect it's only the beginning).
