Petits Pois
A friend introduced me to this simple but really fun little boardgame. In a nutshell , you need to get rid of cards, either from your hand or the cards in front of you (some of which you cannot see when the game starts) by putting them down above or below numbers already on the table. Once someone's hand or laid-down cards are gone, the game ends and the winner is the one with the fewest points left in either areas. I haven't really figured what the right strategies are, but it plays fast, it's fun and everyone I played it with over the short summer break loved it.
