Black Rhythm Revolution! by Idris Muhammad
I found an old comment from 2019 on one of my reviews that recommended this album, so since it's never too late, I got hold of it. And it's really good, in a jazz meets soul meets funk kind of way. The first three tracks are covers, on the shortish side, with Muhammad's drumming way up front and funky as hell. The last two are originals, longer and more jazz. It's a great listen overall though, starts with a slap, ends up contemplative.
