Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr
I have to be honest, I struggled with this one. I generally struggle with most non-linear novels, some more than others, but I really suffered through at least the first half of Cloud Cuckoo Land. With cinq central characters, all set in different places at different times, I was really h oping that the narration's fragmentation was justified and in the end... I don't think it is. I can't say that I didn't enjoy it, it's obviously a love story to stories and tales, something I am very sensitive to, but it's needlessly complicated, and delivers an ending that isn't as mindblowing as it thinks it is. I can see why others might have loved it, but I'm still on the fence.
