Rester Groupés by Sophie Hénaff
I really enjoyed Hénaff's first novel in this series, Poulets Grillés, centered on a brigade of misfit cops, partially manipulated by the big boss of Paris police to do his dirty work for him. The plot wasn't wholly believable, but the set-up was original and funny, and the ending was convincing. I gave the second one a shot, and sadly, the magic is gone. The first one walked a fine line between thrilling and silly, this second one has fallen entirely on the silly side. Don't think I'll be giving the third one a read.
